I. Job Summary
This position reports to the Gas Operations Manager and is responsible
for the operation and maintenance of landfill gas collection systems.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the
essential duties satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned and
may vary by department.
Properly operate and maintain gas collection system on a timely and
cost effective basis in order to achieve minimum performance standards
- Monthly Wellfield Monitoring
- Pneumatic Pump Cleaning / Maintenance
- Routine Blower / Flare Operations
- Condensate Management System Maintenance
- Coordinate and oversee activities of contractors completing non routine lfgms repairs
- Operational Support of Blower/Flare Systems
- Tracing of Electrical Circuitry
- Problem Solve and Troubleshoot Collection Systems
Preventative Maintenance Program Downloading of Wellfield
Monitoring Data Verification of NSPS ComplianceOversee Non Routine
System Repairs
III. Supervisory Responsibilities
- This job has no supervisory duties.
IV. Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications
necessary to perform the job.
A. Education and Experience
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent, driver's license, landfill
gas field experience
Preferred: Heavy equipment operation
B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
PE pipe fusion certification
C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
- 3 - 5 Years of landfill gas field or related experience
- Integrate the knowledge of Level I to properly tune and balance a
landfill gas collection system
- Ability to provide directional support to Level I Landfill Gas
Technician(s).
- Pass Landfill Gas Tech II Certification Training
- Enhanced understanding of Environmental Regulations which affect
the operation and compliance of landfill gas management systems
- Ability to problem solve and diagnose operational issues of a
landfill gas management system; inc. blower / flare station
- Meet Level I qualifications
V. Work Environment
Listed below are key points regarding environmental demands and work

- Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as
keyboarding, machine operation, etc) most of the work day
- Required to exert physical effort in handling objects less than 50
pounds on occasion;
- Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt,
odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements often
- Normal setting for this job is about 75% field and 25% office.
- OSHA level D and personal protective monitoring devices.
